About Us

A Word From the Owner

Having been in factories throughout the world, I know which countries are at the top of their game in artistry and product quality at the best value. I want La Bella Vita to offer the best value that fits our lifestyle statement, and our quality, artistic & service standard. This is why our hand-painted ceramic dinnerware, serveware, giftware, fine flatware and glassware are from Italy, durable stoneware from Portugal, linens from China & India, exquisite aluminum serveware from Mexico…the list goes on. I want my customers to have access to many countries’ specialties and their people’s proud heritage, as I’ve experienced. Our suppliers need to fit our service standard to meet the demand of our customers and bridal registry, and fit our lifestyle niche… And the world works together to create “The beautiful life! La Bella Vita!”

History

Ten years ago, La Bella Vita started on Murray Hill Road in Cleveland, Ohio. As a gift and tableware shop focused on high visual merchandising and sensory impact, La Bella Vita has entertained thousands of visitors over the years.  When the dinnerware and registry experts Potter Mellon retired from the area, La Bella Vita grew to offer Cleveland’s largest selection of specialty tableware and giftware brands, launching their bridal registry business six years ago. About Historic Little Italy

Welcome to the rich and vibrant neighborhood that is home to La Bella Vita.

La Bella Vita is nestled in the center of Cleveland’s historic district, Little Italy. Established in the 1800’s by an artisan from Italy who made his name and fortune sculpting beautiful reliefs and statues for prominent sites in the East Coast cities of New York and Boston. The artisan, Joseph Carabelli, selected Cleveland as the ideal city to begin his own business. His work is part of the rich history of this nation. He brought artisans from his native country, Italy, to work in his business and settle in the village that developed from his venture known as Little Italy. Carabelli is honored as not only a successful business man, and leader of enterprise in the Italian American society, but as a statesman who educated Americans about the rich heritage of the Italian accomplishments in this country.

Today, Little Italy is neighbored by Case Western University, the city’s prominent museums and the world renowned Severance Hall featuring The Cleveland Symphony. The area is a local and tourist attraction and home for the best Italian cuisine in the city and over 30 artist galleries, boutiques and studios that reside in this vibrant slice of the city.

La Bella Vita is proud to honor the beautiful life that the Italian culture brings all of us through offering beautiful serve ware, music and other incredible products that exhibit the unabashed passion of the beauty of life that only the Italians can express.
